Discover Green Bay
In May, we met Brad and Nick at Discover Green Bay that gave us more insight to great resources and tools for the Barnyard Estates Project. What was really interesting was that the Discover Green Bay current tourism building was an eight year project. Now, I am not known for my patience, so having heard this, set me back just slightly. However, it made me realize that I do need to have a little patience, and in the end things will work out, and in a time frame that is right. Everything needs to fall into place, and this project is no different.
One focus of Discover Green Bay, that through meeting Brad and Nick was the how important that their organization is to the city of of Green Bay and the businesses within this community. When organizations like the Green Bay Packers and big companies are trying to recruit employees, one thing that they might do, is bring them into the tourism center to help them understand all of the unique things to do in Northeast Wisconsin to try to get employees to relocate to Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Walking through the tourism center, what we did see was a lot of sponsorship from local businesses, something that we need to captivate on moving forward. A word of advise from Brad and Nick, was to make sure that when we are talking with potential donors, is to not loose our focus of what the Barnyard Estates is all about. This includes naming rights, and making sure that we set up a process to follow, and make sure that we have boundaries in place. Never forget where you came from, or never forget your initial intention.
It was a great meet up, and we are thankful for the time that we were able to spend with Brad and Nick.
